Hooking Harriet & some thoughts about fantasy

Hooking Harriet is live on Amazon, and you can find it here (no, I'm not going to forget the link this time! LOL!)

It's apretty straightforward smoking fetish/corruption stories, with no supernatural or weird elements, and I tryed to keep the sex classy so that the Amazon censors won't get mad at me.

It should also be all-right with KU - I think I found out what was not working.

Also, there's something related I feel the need to talk about.
This will get a bit personal, and might be a little confused.
Don't tell me I did not warn you.

While I was waiting for the file to be processed by Amazon, I had a brief discussion with a friend, who suffered some traumatic losses due to lung cancer.
She found my acting as aposter girl for nicotine addiction at least distasteful, at worse hurtful on apersonal level.
And I can't really find anything to say about that.
It's the sort of thing that shatters me. I don't want to hurt the people I love.
This caused me to think about what I am doing when I write my smoking fetish stories.
And all my stories in general.

True, I love my cigarettes (hell, I sell the fucking stuff!) and I need my daily fix of nicotine and yes, health issues are something I take into account every time I light up (that is what I did as I was typing these lines).
I am so gone that sometimes I find the health dangers thrilling.
So yes, I probably need to see a shrink.
BUT
What I am writing are fantasies.
Twisted, naughty, evil, possibly sick according to some, but fantasies.
The idea that someone might pick up the habit after reading a story of mine never really occurred to me, but now it got me thinking.
What should I do?

It's also been pointed out to me (by my mother and by my girlfriend, among others) that I should get a sponsorship from the Cali Cartel, because in my stories cocaine is presented like a wonder drug. It's sexy and badass and all my characters snort truckloads of the dust and it makes them wonderful.
I'm doing some great publicity to the stuff, my girls told me.
Now, in real life, I am scared shitless of cocaine.
Really.
I tried it. I did it for a while. For about six months I went full Stevie Nicks.
And I loved every single moment until I realized what it was doing to me.
It scares me to death, because it's so easy... because it was so easy for me to get totally hooked, to get psychologically dependant on the shit, and it was scarier than any other drug I ever tried.
So no, I don't want to get my readers started doing lines.

So what?
In Hooking Harriet the main characters smoke enough cigarettes to kill an elephant. They do so having lots of fun. They get to like it - if they do not like it already. They actually seek the head rush, the craving early in the morning.
But it's a fantasy.
That's what I write.
There's a disclaimer, in many of my books, not to take this stuff seriously.
I don't think I could or should do anything more.
So, besafe out there.
And if my fantasies and my games caused you to re-live some painful moments, please accept my sincerest apologies. I only wanted to give you a good time.
That's what I do.

Peace.

Tam.

  1. I doubt any of your readers have a problem with your stories. It's not like you wrote just one story while all the rest were your run of the mill romance stories. People who don't have a corruption/smoking fetish don't read your stories - plain and simple.

Your friend shouldn't be offended by what you write about either. You're not writing children's stories about the wonders of tobacco. You're writing adult stories where bad girls do naughty things. If she's taking that as a personal offense, then that's a very egoistic thing to do.
