Life Imitating Porn: the virus version

OK, first let me tell you this: the COVID-19 situation in Italy is bad. We talk about 10000 infected, over 600 dead, and the whole country quarantined.
People need a paper permission to circulate.
So, yes, IT IS scary.

But for one of those strange things that seem to happen, scary situations also bring out the ridiculous.
And I'm not dissing the Italians, mind you: despite the snobbish airs that my fellow citizens put up, here in Lugano we are all at least 1/3 Italian, so there.

But anyway, some of the news I got via my socials are really... oh, you be the judge.

Milan is locked down; no school, no public places and events, bars and restaurants close at 6 pm, and most offices are closed too. If you can, you telecommute, otherwise you're in vacation.
Drastic.
But there's two professional groups that are not only still fully active, but have seen an increase in demand.

a . hookers
b . cocaine pushers

Apparently a lot of businessmen cannot go to their workplace because of the quarantine, can't go out clubbing in the evening, and therefore decided to bring the party home.

And so the police officers that are in charge of checking the special permissions of the people going abouot have noticed a huge number of professional ladies, with perfectly legit papers, moving about town to bring "essential personal services" to their clients.
And a guy was stopped for a check and turned out he had his papers in order, but also 300.000 Euro (about 400K $) in cocaine on his car.
He had clearly a pretty big car.

And really, how could a nice girl like me not take inspiration from such news to write a story?
This "coke & whores" thing puts a whole new spin on Resident Evil/Walking Dead-style scenarios...

  2. Hope you stay safe. While surprising at first, with the way you explained it people bringing the party to them makes sense, lol. Always interested in seeing what kind of story your mind can dream up as well.

  3. I hope you're safe and well, we're still in the early days in the US and we're locked up in isolation, so many people here thought they were indestructible, I hope you have many more stories to write in the mean time you're in my thoughts.

  8. I am sure that those of us who have followed Tamara Vincent on her blog and read her books miss her very much. We hope that she is alive and someday soon will blog again telling us about a host of new ideas that she has. But, unfortunately, I think it is not to be. I just wanted to put my thoughts into words:

I wish that I could have said Goodbye

All of us, I think, who have followed Tamara Vincent on her blog for all these years have, fearfully at first and then with sorrowful conviction, come to believe that Tamara has died. Perhaps coronavirus took her, perhaps something else. Of course, we wholeheartedly hope that she is still alive. However, surely Tamara would have blogged by now, if she were still living.

I’ll miss her greatly. Certainly, for her literary creations. For her nearly unique writings about personality corruption. Seen by society as horrible degenerates, as persons undermining the foundations of civilized order, her fictional women boldly pushed aside restraining, atavistic norms and embraced all types of pleasures, sexual, drug induced, hedonistic pleasures. And in doing so, found both their true selves and happiness.

But I shall miss her just as much for her communication with all of us. Her wanting to know our thoughts, her playful banter on her blog, and her frankness in revealing her thoughts and feelings. I shall miss her for her genuineness. Her openly expressed love of her mother and her partner were inspiring. I wish her family and friends well. I know that they will miss her more than I do. They should know that I share their grief.

I wish that I had had a chance to tell her what she meant in my life. I know that she cannot know that now. I’ll miss you. Tamara. Goodbye
