Smutpunk, anybody?

So, I stumbled on this new thing, and I'm pretty excited about it.
And you know how I get when I get excited.
The thing is called Smutpunk.

Smutpunk is a new genre of erotica, that first appeared in 2015.
A definition I found is this:

“Smutpunk is Erotica with plot that mixes forms from such varied sources as magic realism, science fiction, and Asian Kung Fu movies. In the same way most other punks use some common element to glue them together, Smutpunk uses the most basic protein of all to create its own panspermia universe, mixing pop-culture, Erotica, the Cthulhu mythos, Far East legends, and Non-Western spirituality with Science Fiction, Pulp, and Silver-Age-Comic era elements into a head spinning, ball-busting good time.”

Oh.
My.
Goddess.

I have to do this!

Like, now!

Some of you may know, many wouldn't but it's ok: back when I was a prim and proper girl, when I didn't use swear words and I was 90% virgin, I used to write ghost stories (hence my Twitter handle @GhostTamara), and I am still a fan of ghost stories in particular, but also of a lot of other fantasy and sci-fi stuff.
Tamara the Sexy Nerd, that's me.
Or was me, anyways.

And Smutpunk sounds like the sort of thing I was born to write. And it would be fun, finally connecting my old geeky passions and my current naughty interests.
It would be different from what I write now - but probably better.
Sure, there might be a bang scene once every ten pages instead of every two, but in those ten pages, hell, I could also put action, violence, adventure, monsters, Nazis, mummies, and ten kinds of weird and kinky!

And please don't tell me that you don't like the idea, because I LOVE the idea.

So, this is sort of a declaration of intents: I will write some Smutpunk.
Or at least try my best at it.
I won't go in Bizarro territory, because I don't like Bizarro.
I don't do the sort of drugs I think are necessary to appreciate stuff like The Haunted Vagina.
Just sayin'.

But pulp and silver age? Where do I sign?
Those I can do, and have lots of fun doing them.
And I think I even know someone that might help me getting the vintage, Indiana Jones-style sort of pulp vibe that I might need.
He writes the stuff, after all.
And he's a very nice guy.
He's the one that made me know Fastner & Larson, the artists whose images illustrate this post (like 'em? I do! Check out Haunted House of Lingerie!)
So yes, he's the right guy whose brain I should pick. Mail sent already.

So watch this space. Something exciting might be about to happen.

Like this...

 ... or this.

What do you guys think?

  1. It sounds very interesting! I'm not sure if I ever read anything in the genre, but I'm definitely curious.
