2019 started fine for me: great vacation, new plans, stuff to write.
I even started a course to improve my CV.
Then, on the 13th of January, my mother was hospitalized, and the doctors got us all very worried.
"Your mother must understand she is not a girl of twenty anymore," the doctor told me.
So, a scary wait, then heart surgery, then the aftermath.
I've been a good little nurse.
Now my mom's back and she's the usual nasty bitch I have learned to love and respect, but she will have to pace herself, and this means I'll get to play the good dutiful daughter more often.
Here.
I am really sorry if I kept you hanging and I gave you no news, but there were nights I just came home and cried myself to sleep.
But now it's over.
I'm back, I'll start writing again, and I'll keep you posted.
Thank you for your patience and your friendship.
I never doubted you, thank you for being you.
ReplyDeleteRemember self care is important and if you don't care of yourself then you won't be able to look after anyone else.
Be well and send my best and naughtiest wishes to your mum
Self care is important. Hopefully everyone understands. I'm you and your mother are OK.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that you are alright. I was truly worried for you. Give my best to your Mom. You are fortunate to have someone that you can share with. You're being a great daughter. I cared for my parents when they were ill. It meant a lot to me to be able to give back in some small way for all that they had given me. I know what you have gone thru. I missed your writing, but that is inconsequential compared to what you have done for your Mom. Thanks for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to know that you are ok. Welcome back, and I hope that 2019 only gets better for you from here.
